Gallery Reception: Prose in Sculpture

Prose in Sculpture – Gallery Reception & Solo Exhibitions
Join us at the MAC Ice House for the opening reception of Prose in Sculpture, a group exhibition featuring works by professional artists from the greater Washington, D.C. area, on Saturday, May 30th at 6:30 PM after the MAC Annual Membership Meeting.
This exhibition explores storytelling through three-dimensional form, where each artist uses color, material, and structure to build unique visual narratives. The works invite viewers to experience sculpture as a kind of poetry in space—rich with emotion, rhythm, and meaning.
Featured artists include Lynda Andrews-Barry, Sally Canzoneri, Steven Dobbin, Mary Early, Luc Fiedler, Margery Goldberg, Leslie King, David Moreland, Jim Roberts, Richard Schellenberg, Pat Scull, David Shombert, Lynda Smith-Bugge, Thomas Sterner, and Christine Stovall.
Solo Exhibitions – Hall of Dreams & Carr-Kelly Galleries
Alongside the group show, three solo exhibitions offer personal and thought-provoking bodies of work:
Christopher Schultz – 42 / asterisk
Paintings created up to age 42 explore meaning, interpretation, and openness. Inspired by The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the “asterisk” expands the idea of 42 into “anything,” inviting viewers to bring their own perspective to each work.
Sisc Stella Johnson – Legacy of Neglect
A photographic series tracing four generations of women shaped by hardship, care, and resilience within cycles of poverty, addiction, and generational struggle.
Kate Fitzpatrick – Lost Words
Layered works inspired by the idea of a palimpsest, where erased text and imagery leave traces beneath new marks. The work explores memory, transformation, and what remains beneath the surface.
We invite you to join us for an evening of art, conversation, and celebration at the Ice House.
