The night kicks off at 5:30 PM on the Ice House’s 2nd floor, where you’ll be greeted by the soulful sounds of Billy Thompson and Golder O’Neill, setting the tone with their French-inspired New Orleans and “hot club jazz” stylings. While you indulge in delectable hors d’oeuvres, explore the lively art scene, featuring local hallway artists and the thrilling Live Art Event: the Art Throwdown.

Imagine the excitement of a “Chopped” style competition but for visual artists! Six talented artists will race the clock to create stunning masterpieces, with a surprising twist mid-challenge. As you watch their creativity unfold, you’ll have the chance to bid on these one-of-a-kind artworks during the evening’s live auction.

At 7 PM, the festivities move downstairs to Paradox Hall for a seated dinner in a setting straight out of a Monet painting. As you enjoy an exquisite meal, let the live jazz from the MAC Gala jazz band—led by Dr. Mark Cook on piano and Fernando Bolanos on bass—transport you to a night of elegance and fun. The music will keep your toes tapping and the dance floor full, while a tempting dessert buffet and signature cocktails from the bar will keep the evening’s delights going strong.

With surprise musical guests, more live auction opportunities, and unique ways to support the restoration of the historic Ice House, this is a night you won’t want to miss.

MAC Art Throwdown

The MAC Art Throwdown is a friendly, live, head-to-head Visual Arts competition where artists participate in an Art Challenge. Eight artists will be faced with a 90-minute hands-on, visually creative activity that can incorporate various art disciplines and media. There may even be a surprise challenge thrown in!

This activity supports MAC’s belief that the more you integrate artists and local people into the community, the more both will prosper.
