Gallery Reception: From Soup to Nuts
Representing both functional and decorative traditions in contemporary ceramics, this exhibition features a diverse collection of wheel-thrown and hand-built pottery. The work on display highlights a wide range of forms, surfaces, and styles, showcasing the versatility and creativity of participating artists.
Using stoneware, porcelain, and earthenware clay bodies, the potters explore a variety of surface treatments and glaze techniques, including salt, soda, and crystalline firing processes. A range of firing methods is also represented, from electric, wood, and gas kilns to raku, each contributing distinct textures, finishes, and unexpected surface effects that make every piece unique.
Together, the exhibition celebrates both technical mastery and artistic expression within the ceramic arts, offering viewers an opportunity to explore the balance between function and sculpture, tradition and experimentation.
The Gallery Reception will be held on Saturday, September 12th at 6:30 PM, and the exhibition will remain on view through November 1, 2026. We invite you to join us for the opening and experience the richness and variety of contemporary ceramic work.
