Annual Delectable Mountains Quilt Show – “Patchwork Garden”
Curated by Abby Chapple

Come and enjoy this festival and sale of over 100 full-sized quilts with a garden theme. The show also includes a boutique of quilted items that will remain open through October 10th.  Put the yard squares quilt auction on your calendar: Sunday, September 5th at 2 p.m. in Berkeley Springs State Park.  All proceeds go to benefit the Ice House sprinkler system project.

MACreate Adult Art Classes 

October 2, 2021, 11 am – 12:30 p.m.
Create a Mushroom Forest at Cacapon Resort State Park
Hiroko Rubin, Instructor

Make a small forest scene with a cute little mushroom! First we will sew a mushroom and then decorate it with forest treasures such as moss, acorns, and small pine cones. No sewing experience is needed.  You will learn how to make knots and sew stitches. All material provided. This is a family friendly program suitable for all ages.  (Children under seven years old should be accompanied by a parent.)  This program takes place at the Nature Center at Cacapon Resort State Park.  Tuition:  Total of $35/ $30 MAC members for up to four family members.  Register online or by calling 304-258-2300.

Glenn has been busy creating beautiful new metal work in his new side blast, water cooled forge.

Ice House Co-op artist Pam Didawick created colorful images of spring with colored metalwork and mixed media fairy gardens.

Textiles

Local artist Hiroko Rubin made this beautiful rug and then created a colorful fabric mushroom garden to complement it!

“Being a household that did have the coronavirus in it has definitely put many things in a different light for us. We were quarantined for over a month- I made this bowl and I titled it ‘Grounded’.”

MAC Co-op artist Pat Williams created these floral mosaics and “planted them this spring”.

Area glass artist and previous gallery show curator Maureen Storey is busy creating beautiful glass spring flowers.

Anna Ruggiero
Mosaic at home

Claiming “too much time on my hands”, Morgan County artist and school teacher Anna Ruggiero created this beautiful mosaic on her stairs.  We think her dog approves and so do we!

 

 

 

 

Kathleen Reagan
Local Artist Kathleen Reagan answered our call by sharing her birds.  It’s a time when we’re all focusing on their springtime re-emergence.

Local Artist LeeAnn Brannon just completed this painting as a response to this turbulent time we are living in. “I have lately felt circumstances are like that now – out of control, spinning with no clear direction.”

Ice House Co-op artist Allison Young has kept busy painting people’s pets…those who keep us company in our isolation.

“Corona Garden Activity”

Ice House Co-op artists Carol and J-P have been busy outside taking a break from their usual work in creating contemporary anodized aluminum jewelry and mobiles to create beautiful garden art!  They’re promising more to follow, so stay tuned.

 

 

 

Chris Bosley
Wood Artisan

Ice House Co-op wood artisan Chris Bosley is taking the wood pile further and continues to craft beatiful natural pieces.

 

 

Artists Jennifer and Bob Peake created an online course that is being delivered to Morgan County Schools through its “MoCoEduOnline” curriculum access for students as we continue to deliver our Arts Integration program.

Arts Integration Film Shamus 6-14Call for MAC Volunteers!You have talent!  You like working with kids!  You love MAC and want to help Get More Art Out There!  Share your art, talent, interests at the Warm Springs Middle School MC After 3 – afterschool enrichment program and help MAC earn money for youth programming!  Volunteer an hour or two of your time to support our kids.  Summer hours available too!
