We will begin with an introduction to silk dyes, exploring color and the movement of the medium on a small practice scarf.   Next, we’ll draw with a gutta resist on our project scarf to learn how to control the movement of the dyes across silk.  Once we have learned how to use our materials, we will create a finished piece by stretching our blank project silk, resisting it, and dyeing it!  Finished piece is your choice of an 11” x 60” silk crepe scarf  or a 14” silk throw pillow cover. Additional silk blanks will be available for cash purchase to dye if time permits.  A material fee of $5 is included in your tuition for this class.
