VIDEO PRODUCTION WORKSHOP IN BERKELEY SPRINGS

BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV ---- A low-cost, three-session video production
workshop for all ages is scheduled for the Ice House in Berkeley
Springs beginning on Tuesday, June 9 at 6pm. The other two sessions
are Saturday, June 13 at 9am and Tuesday, June 30 at 6pm. Brice
Williams and Shamus Cleveland are the instructors.

The three classes are designed to prepare attendees to enter the Very
Fast Video Contest sponsored by FAST ( The Morgan County Forum on
Arts, Sciences and Technology) with a deadline of July 18. Class
topics include both video production and editing.

The Morgan Arts Council (MAC) is conducting the video workshops as a
collaboration with FAST. “We hope to boost entries in the contest by
making it easy for people to create their 40 to 120 second videos,”
says Mary Hott, Executive Director of MAC. “We’re encouraging family
projects by including all ages in the workshops.”

Thanks to financial assistance from FAST, no one will be turned away
due to inability to pay the workshop fees. “There are all sorts of
scholarships available,” said Hott. Equipment required for the class
includes either a video camera or computer with Power Point capacity.

The FAST video contest is part of the Morgan County Fair. It offers
$1200 in cash awards for very short videos in categories including
arts, sciences, technology and social studies.

To register for the workshops or for more information, contact MAC at

These workshops are funded in part by a grant from th National
Endowment for the Arts and the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
