FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- 7/31/08 BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV --- S.T.O.R.M. sweeps into Berkeley Springs State Park on Saturday, August 9 at 5:30pm for a free concert produced by the Morgan Arts Council. In case of rain, the concert moves indoors to the Ice House.
This award-winning four-man reggae group currently performs in Washington, DC where they were recently featured in the Summer Reggaefest at RFK Stadium. Their fierce music features the unique styles and captivating lyrics of the lead duo: Lenny Kurlou and Monsoon whose collaboration has been described as Peter Tosh meets Capleton. All four of the band members hail from the Caribbean islands of Jamaica and St. Croix. They have released both EP and full length albums.
"This is a different sound for the concert series so far this year." said Gordon Macleod, organizer of the concert series. "I expect to see both a younger audience and all those folks who really love the island rhythms."
The MAC Summer Concerts in the Park are sponsored by Carl M. Freeman Foundation. Additional funding for the free concert is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, West Virginia Commission on the Arts and local hotel/motel tax revenues. For more information about the Morgan Arts Council and the calendar of upcoming concerts visit www.macicehouse.org or call 304-258-2300. You can link to the music online from MAC's Website.
