TRY-OUT FOR CRIME AT THE ICE HOUSE

BERKELEY SPRINGS, WV ----
On Monday and Tuesday, April 14 and 15 at 6:30pm at
the Ice House in downtown Berkeley Springs, the Morgan Arts Council
holds open auditions for CRIMES OF THE HEART. The play is scheduled
to be performed for two weekends opening June 13.

Directors Tom and Beth Brooks are looking to cast females in their 20s
to 40s and males in their 20s to 50s in this award-winning comedy drama
by Beth Henley.

Actors should come prepared to try out with one of several scenes.
Descriptions of the characters and scenes are available online at
www.macicehouse.org and at the Morgan County Public Library. "Audition
expect to have fun."

Brooks says "Crimes" is an actors' play. "The women are all
relatives, there's sibling rivalry, jealousy, a personal vendetta,
suicide, attempted murder...you know, just like any small town," jokes
Brooks. There is great depth to the play and some true life lessons.

Beth Brooks is the set designer and she is creating costumes and
furnishings that are out-dated 1960's styles with some accents from the
'50s all gathered in a '70s kitchen. "This is a backdrop that should
lure actresses," she said.

Both Brooks promise entertaining rehearsals. "We're looking forward
to working with actors who want a chance to sink their teeth into these
juicy roles and work with quirky characters."

Beth and Tom Brooks have co-directed other Ice House Theater Project
productions including Secret Garden, Annie and Romeo and Juliet.
